How do I remove milk stains from baby bottles?

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Don’t you just hate it when you see those milk stains on your baby’s feeding bottles? If you washed those bottles immediately, then those stains would come off real easy. Unfortunately some of us aren’t so quick in washing them as there are other things that need to be done before we can wash them. From the long span of time that those baby formula are left in the baby bottles, those stains now will be hard to remove.

Running water thru the bottles won’t remove the stains easily so this is the best method of getting those bottles looking spic and span. It’s a simple process that anyone can do. First thing to do is run the bottles thru running water to remove some of the easier stains out. Get a handy dandy sponge or brush and soap it up. The soap will soften the stain somewhat.

After soaping them, the bottles are put in a pot filled with hot water but not boiling water and let them sit for a few minutes. Make sure the bottles are completely submerged in the hot water. The normal time recommended leaving them there is about 10 minutes or so. After the 10 minutes, the bottles are taken out from the water with a thong as they will be hot. Let them cool a bit and soap them up again using a sponge or brush.

This final washing should do the trick and leave you with clean and milk stain free baby bottles.

How do I choose the best baby bottle sterilizers?

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

There are many products on the market today to sterilize baby bottles, but which one is the best, and how do you choose? The answer comes down to personal choice. A couple questions you may want to ask yourself when you are looking at purchasing a sterilizer are:

1) How much do I want to spend,

2) and how quickly do I need them to be done?

Prices on various sterilizers can be as inexpensive as $25 on up to $100. But, as with a lot of products, sometimes it is the brand you are paying for and not the performance.

For faster sterilization, you may want to consider a model that utilizes your microwave. The electrical sterilizers can take a little longer to heat the water into steam. Both are just as effective as long as the temperature reaches a level to kill germs and bacteria.

The last thing you may want to consider is this, do I really need a sterilizer? Many physicians will tell you that as long as you are washing your baby’s bottles with hot and soapy water a sterilizer is not needed. In the US our water is cleansed through water filtration plants, coming into our homes contaminant free. And while we do not want to purposely feed our infants things that are harmful, germs are a part of building up their immune system.

So which sterilizer is best for your baby bottles? The answer lies on the shelves of many retail stores, choose one that you feel will meet your families needs.

How do I start a baby feeding bottle business?

Monday, August 17th, 2009

To start a baby feeding bottle empire, there are many steps a person must take. First, you need to create a bottle design that is innovative and one-of-a-kind. There cannot be anything like it on the market. You need to take into consideration how much this bottle will cost to manufacture, how easy it is to use, consumer appeal, and how much it will cost on the shelves. After this step, you need to obtain a patent for your bottle. For detailed instructions on this step, contact your local patent office, or find step-by-step guides online.
Once a patent is obtained, you need to find a manufacturer to produce the bottles. You should create a prototype of your bottle to show to possible companies. Unless you come into the industry with a lot of money, you may want to sell the rights to your bottle to a bigger company, or part of the rights so they company supports you financially. If money is not an object for you, you will make the most profit operating independently.
After you find a manufacturer, it is important to find a store (or multiple stores) to carry your product. If you are working as part of a larger, more well-known company, they will take care of this for you. If not, you will have to do this yourself. Another important component is advertising. Contact local TV stations near the store that sells your baby feeding bottle design. Again, if you are operating under a larger company, this will already be taken care of.
